De Wildt 4×4 Nature Game Park & Resort

De Wildt 4×4 is situated on the northern slopes of the Magaliesberg between Pretoria North, Hartbeespoort and Brits. It is close to Johannesburg (1 hour) and Pretoria (30 mins).

The De Wildt facility is situated on approximately 400 hectares and has a variety of fauna and flora. The trail is designed in such a way to accommodate 4×4 vehicles, hikers, cyclists, and trail runners.

De Wildt has various accommodation choices available, as well as multiple lapas for events, seminars, and parties. Larger groups can be accommodated in a private and tranquil tented camps.

After your adventurous outing on the trail, you can make use of our beautiful picnic areas, braai facilities and pool. Day visitors, cyclists, trail runners and hikers are also most welcome to come out to enjoy our fantastic outdoor spaces.

Catch and release fishing is offered and various other activities by prior booking (team builds, expert instructor led 4×4 outings, cheetah tours and abseiling).

The main facility (resort) can be accessed by a standard vehicle/sedan. The trail itself and its obstacles will at least require a 4×4 vehicle with some clearance.

We also cater for corporate functions, seminars, birthdays, weddings, and family gatherings. Check out our accommodation and lapa facilities available.

4×4 Trails

De Wildt 4×4 trail has two options available for drivers who visit us:

The YELLOW route is for beginners and intermediate drivers
The RED route is for advance/experienced drivers. [preferably 2 or more vehicles at a time]

Our trail is set in beautiful, rugged terrain with a variety of flora and fauna.

We also have a well-designed training track which can be booked to conduct training days and we can also arrange 4×4 trainers and trail guides.

This trail is popular with 4×4 clubs based in Gauteng and there are various videos available on YouTube which highlight their adventures with us.

Night drives can be arranged on request.

Hiking

De Wildt Hiking Trail is set in a wonderfully scenic area. The maximum distance to hike is approximately 25km but shorter routes can be taken on. If you don’t want to hike close to our track, you can explore the area. There are lovely hills if you like a challenge and gorgeous views from the tops of our hills. We have a wide variety of game to see on your hike including zebra, giraffe, kudu, and impala to name just a few.

In summer our lawns are lush and green, the perfect spot for a relaxing picnic or a braai. We also offer breakfast, bar facilities, and have swimming pools available. We offer guided hiking tours by prior arrangement.
