Firefly Falls Forest Accommodation is set in a 5-hectare small-holding amidst indigenous forest and open grazing pastures located in The Crags, which is +/- 20 km’s (16 miles) east of Plettenberg Bay.

Firefly Falls is the gateway between the country’s Western Cape and Eastern Cape Provinces and is ideally situated in the centre of all adventure activities, and able to provide all types of accommodation for every type of traveller.

We are 15 minutes away from the World’s Highest commercial Bungee at Bloukrans Bridge and a mere 10-minute drive down a spectacular mountain pass to the unspoiled Natures Valley beach in Tsitsikamma National Park, frequently described as the Jewel of The Garden Route.

Our Otter Trail Packages

Basic Otter Package:

2 separate night stay sharing in our Authentic Glamping tents.
Shuttle to and from the start and end of trail
Epsom Salt Hot Tub on return from otter for sore legs

Hungry Otter Package:

Same as Basic
Catering; dinner and Breakfast for each night’s stay

Fly-Inn Otter Package:

Please note above rates based on 5 or more people, the less people the more the rate goes up. These rates are also based off landing in George.

Flights to Plett are a lot cheaper these days, so have a look at those rates before booking if you haven’t booked already, your shuttle rates will be cheaper per package too.

If you have a group that’s arriving from different sides, please advise so we can quote accordingly, please also include self-drive numbers.

The Accommodation:

All otter packages are booked into our Authentic and Luxury Glamping tents. Each tent sleeps two pax, sharing a queen bed or on 2 singles- this information will be gathered at a later stage. Please see attached for more info on the rooms.

All units are supplied with power and with all linen and bedding, plus towels and extra blankets.

There are lovely facilities to use with indoor, and outdoor, showers and bathtubs.

The Catering:

Takes a load off your planning while you have otter to ready for. You can arrive here with nothing but your bags. For dinner we provide you with braai packs, salads, garlic breads, and one veg dish for your night before trail and a heart farm style potjie for your night back from trail. For breakfast we do a continental spread of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruits, breads and spreads with a coffee, tea and juice station- optional extras include Bacon and egg rolls @R60 extra per person per package.

The Lapa area is equipped with a cash bar for any drinks.

An additional night stay can be added to any package at a special rate of 50% off.

The Hot tub also get fired up for your use on your night back from trail.

A Massage can be added to any package at a fee of R400 per person.

Hiking Trail Extras:

We can assist with Gas bottle purchases for any guests flying in, as they are not allowed on flights.

And we do also offer the slack packing service if you wish- ask for more details.

PLEASE NOTE: These prices DO NOT include the Otter Trail Hike Pass; you will need to obtain that with SANParks.

Accommodation

We offer private campsites and glamping tents that have access to three beautiful forest bathroom facilities, so you can bathe in privacy with the forest. Main Bathroom block has 2 loos, 2 indoor showers and one outdoor shower. The Fairy bathroom has an outside shower and loo, The Forest Bathroom has a shower and a bath and loo with a large glass pane window boasting views of the forest.

Our Timber Family Cabin, that offers its own private bathroom. Along with our two new cabin additions, our Safari Cabin, and our Forest Cabin. Both boasting beautiful private outdoor showers and loos.

Then our Budget Rooms for the passing backpacker which share a communal bathroom. Guests have access to our various forest bathrooms.

Firefly Falls will provide guests will clean linen and towels, but guest is responsible for their own toiletries.

Authentic Glamping

These Canvas tents are erected on our raised wooden decks, and under a sheltered roof. Perfect to keep you away from any type of weather elements. The tents include beds, with clean linen and towels for your use, as well as an electrical point and lights.

Forest & Garden Glamping – 2 Single beds
Family Glamping – 1 Queen bed and 2 single beds
Luxury Glamping – 1 Queen bed

These units do not have private bathrooms thus have access to the 3 various bathroom facilities on the property.
