KOSI – Lakeside Private camp is located inside the boundary of the ‘iSimangaliso World Heritage Marine Reserve’.

Nestled in the coastal forest, right on the banks of 3rd lake at Bhanga nek beach in Kosi Bay at the foot of the dunes that separate the lakes from the Indian ocean and pristine Turtle sanctuary beaches.

We are ideally located for Eco trails, with walking pathways to the Lake, and within walking distance to Bhanga nek beach.

The Private camp creates an exclusive retreat experience and offers guests an opportunity to reconnect with nature.

The rustic luxury of reeded Rondavels and fully catered, delicious meals prepared on open fires, combined with authentic and unique Eco trails exploring the ancient African paradise of KOSI BAY create unforgettable experiences, reviving your mind, body and soul.

Camp Info

It is a beautiful private camp, sleeping a maximum of x14 guests (7 couples)
The camp is booked out exclusively to only ONE group or family at a time.
Minimum of x8 guests / max 14.
Minimum stay of 2 nights.
3x Sahara tents (All linen provided
4x Rondavels (All linen provided).
1x central – fully equipped kitchen and Dining area.
2x central bathroom areas.
We offer FULL CATERING services or SELF CATERING.
We can tailor packages to suit specific groups requirements.

Eco trails

We offer 5 fully guided day trails all starting from the camp and returning to the camp again. A combination of hiking, snorkeling and Raffia palm kayaking.

The Izibaya – Fishkraals trail

An Eco trail to the fish kraals and up to the village of eNkovukeni, which boasts spectacular views of the entire lake system below, to enjoy a traditionally prepared lunch of fresh fish, warm hospitality, and traditional crafts.

The Kuguma – Kosi mouth trail

A boat cruise along the crystal-clear lakes and interlinking channels, to enjoy the birdlife and basking hippos. Followed by a hike along the sanctuary beaches to Kosi Bay mouth and estuary, to enjoy snorkelling over the Aquarium reef.

The Mvuma – Raffia palm forest trail

Experience traditional Raffia palm kayaking, and hiking along 3rd lake to the unusual Raffia palm forest.

The Slobello – Snorkelling trail

This Eco trail takes you hiking over the coastal dunes, then descending to the northern beaches to enjoy snorkelling.

The Ufudu – Turtle trail

Seasonal, evening hikes along the moonlight turtle sanctuary beaches, to encounter either the adult or hatchling sea turtles.

IZIBAYA TRAIL – FISHKRAALS & ENKOVUKENI VILLAGE / 10km by boat / hiking 20 km

An Eco trail to the Tsonga fish kraals, a hike up to the village of ENkovukeni which boasts spectacular views of the entire lake system below, to enjoy a traditionally prepared lunch of fresh fish, warm hospitality, and traditional crafts.
