Each tent has a Double bed, a small table, 2 chairs & a shelf. There are 4 separate communal timber huts, with a well-equipped kitchen hut, a toilet hut, and our famous ‘Loo with a view’ plus a shower hut and 2 showers among the forest trees.

A quaint timber woodcutter style Cabin with a tin roof and covered veranda with stunning sunsets and starry night skies over wild grass fields to the forest beyond.

Offers:

A double bedroom with painted cement floor, a bathroom with shower, and a kitchen galley with all you need for a comfy stay. An open-plan lounge with high ceiling exposed beams and quarry tiled floors. It is warmly and creatively furnished.

Camping

Eco Vegan camping for green conscious nature lovers. The cosy camp sites each have a basic rock fire pit and lovely views. You will experience stunning sunsets and starry twinkling night skies next to magical forest with trails and a myriad of wildlife.

Description:

Our eco campsites are informally sprinkled in a field along the forest edge. Wake up to early sunrises and sit around a campfire under wide-open starry skies.

Offers:

A beautiful safe rustic space to set up camp, some sites are under trees, some sunny, others on the forest edge. There is no electricity at the campsites as in a bygone era. The rustic forest ablution huts offer two great compost toilets and two showers and are close to the main camping field.  There is no kitchen so do come prepared to be self-sufficient.

Morning Star Forest Tent

A spontaneous do your own thing Retreat ~ Stay in our glamping forest tents, self-cater or choose from our yummy vegan Menu, choose which therapies you would like to do, and we ensure you get what you need and leave revived. Contact us for the ‘do your own thing’ rates.

Let us guide you to secret spots far from the crowds.  We offer a unique array of experiences, from enjoying our fine pop-up dining and ‘secret dinners’, to our guided walks foraging for wild mushrooms in the forests and learning to live with the wildlife roaming this magical place. During the year we host holistic retreats and creative workshops where you can de-stress and leave revived and inspired. We are also on hand to offer guidance as to where to go and what to see, from a visit to our ancient forests, a surf at ‘Buffs’, or to meet, eat and shop at our popular weekend country food and craft markets. We work as we live, endorsing and supporting only ethical, responsible, and fair-trade tourist attractions in the Knysna area and beyond.

Need To Know

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes, we have a 12mgb line, which is sufficient for most digital nomads. Most of the cottages have a reasonable connection, & the tents can access the internet from the studio deck.

Do you have a TV?

No, most of our guests come here for a break from the noise of their daily routine. Nature is your playground & should you feel inclined in the evenings – Netflix & chill 😉

What should I bring?

Eco toiletries, mozzie repellent in summer, wood & firelighters, warm jackets & swimwear (can be warm in the day & cool at night), a torch if camping, meat-free groceries if self-catering.

How much nature is around?

Peace of Eden is on the edge of the indigenous forest, directly off a tar road. With our location comes monkeys and baboons, caracal and porcupine, bushbuck and wild boar, birds and bees, spiders and snakes, butterflies and moths. Whilst we celebrate all of these creatures, you will be lucky to see any of them. That being said, if the thought of being surrounded by wildlife is not for you, it’s probably best you book into the protea hotel on the main road of Knysna. We are off the grid with our water, so it sometimes is golden with minerals, we supply candles (not generators) for load shedding, and we make fires for warmth and ambiance.

Are you pet friendly?

We do on occasion allow guests to bring their furry friends. We do however consider this on a case-by-case basis. Our property is rented by cats and owned by wildlife, so any canine visitors will need to be on friendly terms with the homies here. If yours fits the criteria, a leash will be required. Let us know if you want to bring a puppy pal along before booking.
