Situated between the Free State, Eastern Cape, and Transkei, and nestled between mountains, natural creeks and the Orange River, lies Breakaway Trails. Just 190 km from Bloemfontein on the N6 towards Aliwal North.

Enjoy the comfortable accommodation while still receiving the outdoor experience, being overwhelmed by countless stars, hearing the fish eagles call, and seeing small game such as the mountain reedbuck, steenbuck, springbuck and blesbuck in their natural surroundings.

Exploring offers the Orange River with all its’ splendour and numerous varieties of trees and bird life.

What we offer

With up to 70 km scenic trails, we cater for:

• Mountain bikes (own equipment)-rough and easy terrain. Ideal for adventure trails.
• Hikers-on route from mountains to the river bed sighting rock art, old grave sites and nature at it’s best. 3 different trails ranging from, (6km ,8km en 4 km).
• Bird watching in an area abundant with bird life.
• Fly fishing (own equipment)—yellow fish being the specialty seasonal.
