We have several species of game, including zebra, wildebeest, different kinds of buck and a range of birdlife roaming freely across 100 hectares of malaria-free bushveld.  You can view game with one of our game drives, by foot or bicycle, and when night falls, you can light your campfire and listen to the soothing sounds of the night.

The farm is located in the north-eastern part of the North West Province, known as the Bojanala region.  The location of the farm is within easy reach of 3 cities – Pretoria, Johannesburg and Rustenburg. We are 36 kilometers outside Brits on the R511, 90 minutes’ drive from Johannesburg and 60 minutes’ drive from both Rustenburg and Pretoria.

Entertainment Area

Our entertainment area is the ideal place to chill and relax with your family & loved ones whilst taking in the radiant glow of the sun. We have super tubes, playgrounds for the kids, putt-putt, under roof hot water swimming pool, kiddies pools, cold water swimming pools, tennis court, table tennis, swings, merry-go rounds & much more.

What is a memorable holiday without a dip in the pool?

Take a plunge in any of our 3 pools to cool down from the heat.  We have two cold water pools and an under-roof heated pool where no splashing or jumping is allowed, which makes a perfect option for adults to take some time out from the sun and play.  Children under 12 years is allowed to use the slides and pools with STRICT GUARDIAN SUPERVISION ONLY.

Please note that the hot water swimming pool will not be heated during weekdays.

Kiosk

At our famous Bush ‘n Buck kiosk, we sell many holiday essentials like snacks, sun block, drinks, ice cream, wood, firelighters, slushies, ice, water and many more essentials for your stay with us. Our kitchen offers many fast food take away’s such as slap chips, russians, toasted sandwiches, chicken nuggets and many other “lekker” foods.  The seating inside the kiosk is ideal for a quick snack & go + we have “old school” arcade games to keep the kiddies entertained free of charge.

Friday: 13:00 – 17:00
Saturdays: 08:00 – 17:00
Sundays: 08:00 – 12:00

Kiosk hours as seen above is our standard operating hours.   Hours are subject to change at any given time.  School Holidays, Long Weekends & December Holidays will have their own set times that will be displayed at the Kiosk entrance.

Golf Driving Range

Fancy yourself a bit of a Gary Player or Ernie Els? Take on the 200 meters driving range to show everyone your skills. Remember to bring your own clubs along, or if not, you are more then welcome to rent some of our irons at the Kiosk.  We sell a bucket of 50 driving range balls for a mere R60.00 per bucket.

Please note that our animals do graze on the driving range at certain times, so please do not harm the animals whilst practicing your swing.

Game Drives, Bush Hikes, Cycling & Bird Watching

We are delighted to announce our new game drives at Bush n Buck! The golf carts have been replaced with the exciting and popular, staff-driven vehicle that seats a maximum of 12 people. Guests will be required to book a spot for a game drive in advance. Two game drives are available – one in the morning and one in the afternoon depending on the bookings for the day. Price is R60 per person for a +/- hour long drive and bookings are to be made at least 2 hours before departure.

Hiking & cycling are free of charge, however we do urge our guests to please always be careful and vigilant in the bush for animals & snakes. Unattended minors will not be allowed to hike/cycle in the bush.  We invite you to bring along your own bicycles for free of charge usage on our resort.  Many species of bird can be seen on the farm, so be sure to bring along your binoculars to spot them easily.

The following wildlife can be found on the farm:

Sables – Greater Kudus – Blue Wildebeest – Zebras – Nyalas – Brown Blesbokke – White Blesbokke –

Fallow Deer – Impalas – Waterbuck – Duikers (Grey & Blue) – Jackals – Warthogs – Banded Mongooses.

Please note that game & bird watching is an unsupervised activity and we therefore request our visitors to refrain from engaging with the animals to ensure your safety, and theirs.

Fishing – Catch & Release

As we all know, South Africans love to fish… That’s right everyone, at Bush ‘n Buck we have a small fishing dam roughly 2600 meters squared for our guests to utilize free of charge. (catch & release only).  We have four main species of fish in our dam namely: Large Mouth Bass, Kurpers, Barber & Carp.  Please note to that we do sell fishing rods, reels, sinkers, gut, hooks and floaties at the kiosk. However, you are more than welcome to bring along your fishing rods & tackle.

Braai Lapa Rental

The Braai Lapa is a very popular venue for hire, offering seating for up to 40 people under an outdoor roof at the far end of the entertainment / swimming pool area.  It includes the usage of our large stainless steel charcoal spitbraai & large outdoor boma.  Braai Lapa Rental per Night = R800.00 (Low Seasons Only).  Price includes Wood from the Bushveld for the usage of the Boma (Braai-wood for the stand / built-in braaiers need to be purchased separately).  Please note that own catering equipment, utensils and cutlery need be arranged.  Local caterers are available for events if interested, however early arrangements need to be made.

Accessibility & Parking

To ensure a peaceful environment and the safety of all the visitors and animals on the farm, we do not allow game drives with the use of private vehicles.  Parking bays are available close to the chalets and caravan/camping stands.  We have 24-hour security patrolling the premises to ensure the safety of all our guests. 

Dog policy

We love dogs and welcome certain dogs to join their owners on their holiday – however to ensure a pleasant stay for all our guests, there are certain conditions applicable to bringing dogs to our farm:

• Only small breed dogs allowed on the farm.
• Dogs to be kept on the lead at all times when moving around the farm premises. Any dogs causing disruption or being a nuisance to other guests, will be required to leave the farm (including their owners).

• Clean up after your dogs. Any owners not doing so will be requested to leave the farm.

Chalets

We cater for all budgets – the Big Five provides ample space with a private jacuzzi, The Herd chalets also sleep 4 in a smaller, yet comfortable, space and the new Bird’s Nest rooms provide simplicity at a very attractive rate. Let’s not forget our trophy chalet, The Hippo, that can sleep up to 6 people. Which will you be booking?

We are happy to announce that Bush ‘n Buck Private Game Farm is now open for midweek bookings.

It must be noted that some of our services (kiosk, boilers & hot water swimming pools) will be offline during weekdays, however, open again for all weekends, long weekends, school holidays & December holidays.

With thee above being said, It is also important to note that daily maintenance takes place during these quieter times (midweeks) where swimming pool maintenance, garden servicing and other general maintenance will take place and we ask for patience during these duties when performed from our staff.

Big Five Chalets

The Big Five camp consists of 5 standalone chalets and are named after the Big Five of South Africa: Lion, Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo & Leopard. The Lion, Leopard & Rhino are situated in the Bush, whereas the Elephant & Buffalo are situated close to the Swimming Pool / Kiosk area.

Each chalet consists of one bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom, an open-plan kitchen and lounge area. The lounge area can sleep two people by using the single sofa beds provided.

The Big Five chalets are the most spacious of all the chalets and provide better privacy for small families.

Each chalet offers the following:​

• Braai and picnic area
• Air conditioning
• TV with DSTV (Hotel package only)
• Self-catering facilities, including a fridge and microwave oven
• Bathroom with toilet, washbasin and shower
• Sleeps 4 people (1 double bed, 2 single sofa beds)

Small Herd Chalets

The Herd camp consists of 9 standalone chalets and are named: Oryx, Zebra, Impala, Steenbuck, Duiker, Wildebeest, Springbuck, Warthog, Kudu.

The chalets are smaller in size than the Big Five chalets but still provide sleeping for 4 people. Each chalet consists of an open-plan design with one double bed, 2 single bunk beds, a bathroom, kitchen and dining area.

• TV with DSTV (Hotel package only)
• Self-catering facilities, including a fridge and microwave oven

Bird’s Nest Rooms – 1 Nights Booking Allowed

Want to have a hassle-free camping experience without caravans and tents? We have created the perfect solution for you! The bird’s nest camp contains small, semi-detached rooms that provide a basic, but comfortable environment for a perfect getaway – we call it glamour camping, in Bush ‘n Buck style. We provide the chalet with a bed and mattress, cupboards, fridge and air-conditioning (subject to certain rooms), and you provide the rest.

The Bird’s Nest camp consists of 9 rooms, 8 of which are semi-detached and 1 that’s a standalone room. The rooms in the camp area are named: Kingfisher, Babbler, Woodpecker, Swallow, Fish Eagle (standalone chalet), Heron, Stork, Hadeda and Barn Owl.

Each room offers the following:

• Air conditioning (Available in the Fish-Eagle, Kingfisher, Woodpecker, Stork & Swallow Rooms)
• Double-bed base with mattress, and bedding
• Small bar-fridge
• Cupboard space for personal items
• Kitchen essentials (kettle, mugs, plates, cutlery, a pot & pan) to cater for 2 people.
• Portable private braai
• Access to a communal kitchen with gas stoves, braai facilities & microwave oven
• Nearby ablution blocks with toilets, showers and wash-up facilities

A maximum of two people can sleep in each Bird’s Nest room. No exceptions will be made.

The Hippo Chalet

The Hippo chalet can sleep up to 6 people very comfortable with 3 separate bedrooms – two bedrooms with a double bed and one with two single beds. The chalet also provides an enjoyable living area with an open-plan TV room and kitchen, kitted out with all our standard utilities and accessories.

The chalet offers the following:

• Private garden, braai & picnic area
• Private jacuzzi (Kindly note that the jacuzzi does not make bubbles)
• Air conditioning in the 2 x bedrooms with the double bed & lounge area.
• Ceiling Fan in the bedroom with the 2 x single beds.
• TV with DSTV (Hotel package only)
• Self catering facilities, including a fridge and microwave oven
• Inside bathroom with toilet, washbasin and bath
• New private outdoor enclosed ablution with shower, toilet & wash basin
• Sleeps 6 people (2 double beds, 2 single beds)
• Daily room service (housekeeping)

Caravan Park

The caravan park currently consists of 70 caravan & 4 smaller tent stands of various sizes.

Out of the 74 stands, 13 are known as the private stands which have their own separate ablution block and wash-up area.

Each of our unique stands offer the following:

• Level ground covered with grass
• Portable braai’s
• Electricity points
• Water points
• Nearby ablution blocks with toilets, showers and wash-up facilities (except stands 53 – 66, which have their own ablutions)
• Hot water supply
• Laundry services (priced per kilo)
• 24-hour Security (during busy weekends, long weekends & December holidays)
• Easy access to our entertainment facilities

• 1 Caravan/1 Vehicle/ 5 People per site (Maximum of 6 people with extra costs)

• High Season: All Long Weekends & December Holidays
• Check-In time strictly from 12:00 (earliest)

• R50.00 extra charge per hour for late checkout.
• Strictly no solid ground covers allowed.
• No music at any time.
• Use only braai stands for fire, do not harm the grass.
• Mops are provided in the ablution blocks, please return to its original place once used.
