      Heuningboshuisie

      3 guests – 1 bedroom – 1 bed – 1 sleeper couch – 2 baths

This beautiful getaway is situated where two valleys meet, embraced by deep red cliffs and touched by morning sunlight.  The cottage was built in the late 1800s and was the welcome “refuge” for Italian prisoners of war in the early 1940s.  It’s delicious charm lies in its simplicity – a bedroom, open plan kitchen and Livingroom, as well as two bathrooms.

The Heuningboshuisie has been delicately renovated with the utmost respect for the beauty of the simple life and the warmth and history of the original earthy building materials.  There is solar power, and the cottage is fully equipped with gas appliances and cooking equipment, with a braai area outside.  There is an indoor bathroom with a shower, for the colder nights; but the original outdoor bath and shower has been retained, providing an unforgettable experience under the stars.   On hot days you can find relief in the splash pool nestled between the natural bush, just coming off the veranda (please note the pool is not covered).  This remains our favourite place for romantic getaways, with wide open spaces, red cliffs, endless beauty, and a warm and cosy nest.

The Heuningboshuisie sleeps 3 adults OR 2 adults and 2 children:

      • One room with a queen size bed (sleeps 2)
      • One sleeper couch in the living room (sleeps 2 children OR 1 adult)

Check in is anytime from 2pm onwards and check out by 10am. Guests are welcome to arrive earlier and leave later if you want to do walks, however, please ensure you are out of your accommodation so that our team can start cleaning for the next guests.

Please note this is un-serviced accommodation, though for stays of four days or more we can organise to have the cottage cleaned and new linen and towels provided. Please make sure that you arrange this when you make your booking and before your arrival.
