Elangeni Holiday Resort, Mpumulanga, South Africa, is situated on the banks of the Elands River, on the N4 between WatervalBoven and Nelspruit. The resort is in a low risk malaria area and is the perfect breakaway to unspoilt nature. The Elangeni Holiday Resort is a well maintained and equipped destination for family getaways and stopovers to other destinations en route to places like the Kruger Park, Mozambique and other lowveld places.

For those desiring comfort, the resort has 8 self-catering chalets that are fully equipped while campers and caravaners are well catered for in the spacious tree lined park next to the Elands River. Visit the little-known site of Petroglyths (Rock engravings) close to where, rumour has it, the Kruger millions are hidden or venture onto the mountains by way of the picturesque (and in some cases, strenuous) hiking trails.

The resort offers fishing, bird watching, nature walks, a swimming pool, a jungle gym, trampolines, self-catering chalets under shady trees, caravan and tent camping sites. Activities include river tubing, hiking and (No paintball). The resort is ideal for school group outings and corporate team building. There is a lapa and a stone hall for functions, a laundry facility, shop only open in peak seasons.

Self-catering accommodation:

Twelve self-catering chalets are scattered under shady trees. There are 8 double storey chalets each with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lounge, and kitchen. 8 Ribbok luxury double storey units, 1 Ribbok house and 4 Otter chalets.

The Eight Ribbok Luxury Duplex Units:

These units sleep 4 – 6 people each. The units have 2 bedrooms each with 2 single beds upstairs, 2 sleeper couches in the lounge downstairs, 2 bathrooms – one upstairs and one downstairs, a lounge, a large kitchen, and a braai area. All the chalets are fully equipped and, offer DSTV.

Ribbok House:

This self-catering unit sleeps 4 people. It has 2 bedrooms – 2 single beds an 1 double bed, a full kitchen, 1 bathroom with a shower and a small lounge.

Otter chalet 1:

One bedroom with 4 single beds, a shower bathroom and a small kitchen and lounge.

Otter chalet 3:

Two bedrooms with 2 single beds each, a shower bathroom, a kitchen and a small lounge.

Otter chalet 4:

Two bedrooms, one with 1 double bed, and one with 2 single beds, a shower bathroom, small kitchen, and lounge.

Koedoe Wooden Chalets:

There are 10 wooden Koedoe chalets.

Koedoe Chalets 1, 3 -10:

These chalets have 2 bedrooms each, and can sleep 4 – 6 people. The smaller rooms have 2 sinlge beds, and the larger rooms have 2 single beds and 1 bunker bed. The units have a shower bathroom but not kitchenette.

Koedoe Chalets 2:

This chalet sleeps 4 – 6 people in 2 bedrooms. The smaller room has 2 single beds, and the larger room has 2 single beds and 1 bunker bed. This unit has a shower bathroom as well as a small kitchenette.

Klipspringer Wooden House:

The Klipspringers Wooden Houses that can sleep up to 12 persons per wooden house.

4 Klipspringer units available

Use communal bathroom down at ablution block and use communal kitchen, with crockery and cutlery.

Wood, charcoal and ice can by purchase at the Shop, next to the Reception.

Please bring enough water for the first 14km; there is no water point on the first day men about 4l and women 2l.

All water is drinkable on the Resort and in the Mountain

Caravan Park and Camping:

We offer 50 caravan and tent sites with power points and there are two ablution facilities.

The ablution blocks have hot and cold water, electric lights and power points are available.

NEW: Wheelchair accessible bathroom.

Activities, school groups & hiking:

School groups: We cater for school groups from 30 – 130 children. Literia course, obstacle course, river tubing, tug of war, (NO paint ball) sports games, 2.4km educational hiking trail and lots more.
