And for the cyclists – the demanding Castle Hill return route of 32 km will test your will power climbing over 500 m just to get to the top. However, you will be rewarded with countless free riding moments on your way back. Or you can just enjoy one of the many easier routes within the Springbok Reserve ideal for families or beginners.

We can offer you three (3) camping options:

Mountain Camp (Exclusive Campsite)– pet friendly

This exclusive and charming campsite is built into the rocks overlooking the spectacular Lovebird Gorge which has a permanent small waterhole. The flush toilet and warm shower heated by a donkey have prime views over the gorge. The campsite is covered by a large sink roof and canvas walls on the sides that can be rolled down depending on the weather. You also have a choice of 2 fire spots. The one area with a standing adjustable braai grid and the other a social fire pit to sit around and let the enchanting flames hypnotize you into utter relaxation. Further facilities include a double wash basin with running water next to the braai area. A big 6-seater table with benches, a long kitchen workstation, plenty of space and hooks to keep your personal belongings off the ground, allows for a comfortable and tranquil camping experience. The campsite is also equipped with solar lights at the main area as well as at the toilet / shower area (no charging station). More picture’s view in camping gallery. Ideal for up to 6pax.  Not recommended for campers with mobility concerns – trail to bathroom is rocky!

Adventure Camp (Event Location)– pet friendly

Our newest addition to Farm Godeis is the Adventure Camp. This camp is exclusively rented out for private groups, functions, or events only. The campsite is also located on the banks of the ‘Otjimpaue river’ which can flow a couple of times during the rainy season. This venue has a covered sink roof area of over 200m² which provides you ample shade or cover to put up plenty of tables or use as sleeping arrangements for school groups / camps! The kitchen is enclosed with lots of workspace and ledges around the room. The gas hot water system provides instant hot water to clean dishes or prepare your meals. The kitchen has a service counter and extra wide doors (2) to carry your goods in or out of the kitchen area.  The spacious braai area is the perfect place to cater for your group. There is even an extra sink with running cold water and ample workspace.  Adjacent to the kitchen is an area which is perfect to serve drinks with a bar counter or use for food serving or conducting presentations of any kind. The bathroom facilities are spacious. There are four (4x) toilets and 3x urinals. The four (4x) showers are generous and are also powered by two (2x) gas geysers to provide you with instant hot water anytime of the day. Solar lights provide you easy navigation around the campsite at night.

Riverside Camps– pet friendly

These three (3) groups campsites are located along the riverbed of the big ‘Otjimpaue River’ which runs regularly in the rainy season. They have plenty of space under big shady acacia trees. These campsites are ideal for groups (1-20 people) as space is sufficient. Each campsite has a stand-up braai with an adjustable grid that makes meal preparations a joy. There are two (2) communal showers with a ‘hot water donkey’, and two (2) toilets with peaceful views into nature spaced out along the three (3) campsites.

This area can also be used for DAY VISITORS.

Godeis Hiking Trails

Farm Godeis offers one (1) day hiking trails and forms part of the six (6) day “Khomas Hochland Hiking Trail” which where all mapped out and designed by HOSA (Hiking Organisation South Africa). These trails wind through rugged riverbeds, up and down some incredible mountain ranges and through impressive gorges. Spectacular views and a vast selection of wildlife will accompany you on your hiking encounter with Namibia’s raw nature.

Godeis Weekend Trails

Gather a group of friends and nature enthusiasts and drive in your 4×4 or Sedan to the farm on Friday after work – only 70 km west from Windhoek (± 1.5h travel time). Settle in at the charming Godeis campsite around a fire and get a good night’s rest before tackling the Leopard Hike early the next morning after a nourishing breakfast and a good cup of coffee.

Leopard Hike

We recommend you hike this marked trail first, as it’s the longest and the most challenging of the trials. The trail starts off easy along the Campsite Access Road, over the Pothole Klip and through Leopard Gorge before tackling the Lonely Aloe and taking your first well deserved break at the Damsitplek. Your journey then continues along Zebra Walk, taking the spectacular Moringa Draai ascent to the inspiring and breath-taking Godeis’ Viewpoint – your highest climb of the day. Here you can refuel on the snacks you brought along. The steep winding decent to Lekker man Lekker Rus requires concentration and awareness.
Please be aware of slippery rocks!

Don’t forget to look up and take in the beauty of this exceptional trail when passing the Leopardfall Cave and making your way to another well-deserved rest at Klitgrasdoringboom. Oppikoppi, Windgat Witgat and the Kraglynklim will take you to the Double Aloe Window where you can play with your photographic ingenuity. Grootuilboom Rus is the second last rest, from here your homestretch continues through and along the big dry Otjimpaue River which can also hold water during rainy months. Big camelthorn trees will shade your last stretch along Rosty Watergat and the Otjimpaue Waterholes. Once you have crossed the Springbokvlakte and Godeis’ Window, Flintstones Café can almost serve you that well-deserved ice-cold drink that awaits you only a few more 100m around the corner at the campsite.

Put up your feet and feel accomplished?

To finish this dazzling day – enjoy the spectacular views from the Sundowner Spot with your favourite drink and snacks.

Dassie Hike

The shorter of the one (1) day trails is perfect for the Sunday (after the longer Leopard Hike on Saturday), have limited time, or if you are a beginner hiker and your fitness levels are average.

This trail starts off with a fairly steep climb up to Bakkies’ Uitsig and furthermore to the Camp View Point. Be aware of loose rocks!

Zebra Down takes you to Bobbejaan Rest. The Klippspringer Couch is a rock that stands out and if lucky you can see klippspringers warming up in the hardly noticeable sunrays of a crisp winter morning. The Jesus’ Tree proves the congruity of the name – it lived, it died and it lives again!

The High Black Eagle Nest requires a bit of a scouts’ eye to find, but the scrambling along this distinctive gorge will be astonishing. Once you have reached Uitloopdam Rus, a minor rise will take you over Suntan Turn and your adventure concludes past Skeleton Cave to the stunning.
