About Us

Incwala Lodge formerly known as Blaauwbosch Trout Inn is family run and owned, giving it a distinct kind of hospitality that is uniquely Mpumalanga and has a strong Swati heritage. Nestled in the mountains of Emgwenya is a sanctuary of bird life; trout fish, ancient ruins and a place many of our guests call a home away from home.

This 103 ha. farm is situated just outside Waterval Boven on the edge of the Highveld with breath-taking views of the Elandsvalley. We pride ourselves in the open-air spaces that enable guests to enjoy a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the city – all with just a 02h30min drive from Johannesburg on the N4 and 1-hour drive from Nelspruit.

We offer tranquillity, privacy and plenty of activities for families, groups of friends or just travellers exploring the Highlands Meander.

Activities include trout fishing, birdwatching, biking, and walking. Ancient’s ruins can also be viewed on the 103-hectare property.

Our Self-catering Units

We offer five self-catering units with a fully equipped kitchenette and bathroom. Each of the units is situated well within the distance of each other, offering privacy and tranquility.

Ezulwini House

Perched up on a hill, this is the main house on the farm, ideal for travelling families. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, lounge with fireplace, and a timber deck with stunning views. BBQ facility and private boma.

Uthingo House

Uthingo House– Divided into five studio units, each with a separate entrance. 3 of the studio units are standard rooms with a kitchenette and bathroom, and two larger units with a kitchen, dining area, living room and bathroom. perfect for solo traveler and groups alike . This is the first property upon entering the farm, it has serene walkways leading to the rest of the property. This is a modern superbly furnished house with impeccable views and stellar decor that is a celebration of the individuality of the lodge

The large units are luxurious- complete with dining area ,and kitchens. The modern finishes are beautifully presented in the large and lavish spaces, which spill out to private use patios, where peaceful moments can be enjoyed as you drink in the veld views.

Sleeps 2 and is situated in a quiet and secluded corner of the farm. This is perfect for a romantic getaway for couples #baecation.

Umyezane Cabin

Sleeps 2 with a patio that opens views of the farm and the surrounds. This cabin also has pristine views of the dam perfect for winding down after a hike.

Manzini Cabin – Pet Friendly

Sleeps 5 people per section and can be opened for a group of up to 10 people. It has spectacular views of the dams and leafy walkways.
