Set in the heart of the Waterberg mountains, Lindani is a 3000ha Reserve offering a selection of game, accommodation options and outdoor activities. Choose from 10 beautifully appointed, private, luxury self catering lodges, or go for the more rustic bush experience with our tented camp option or campsite.

With 70kms of cycling and hiking trails through game-filled plains, Lindani offers an exciting bushveld get-away for the whole family, only two and a half hour’s drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Each lodge has a fully equipped kitchen, its own braai area and pool/plunge pool. Enjoy free un-capped wi-fi and a secure and eco-friendly power supply, due to our own solar power system. Motseng Village

Motseng Village is a cluster of units – Motseng, Impala Cottage and Bushbuck Cottage – which together can accommodate 18 people. These units are ideal for larger groups and special occasions, conferences or training programs, faith groups or hiking and cycling clubs. The three units share a beautiful, large swimming pool and volleyball court and have easy access to mountain bike and hiking trails, as well as several picnic spots along the Melkrivier.

Each unit may also be booked independently by separate parties, bearing in mind that the swimming pool and volleyball court will be shared. Should you, as a single party booking , want exclusive use of the facilities, then minimum charges apply.

Motseng

Motseng comprises two units, each beautifully equipped with its own lounge (with fireplace ), dining area, kitchen and patio. There is also a games room with a TV. Motseng overlooks a wide plain and a large waterhole, and has easy access to mountain bike and hiking trails.

2 units, one with 2 bedrooms en-suite, the other, 3 bedrooms en-suite. One is wheelchair friendly.

This delightful cottage overlooks the beauty of a wide plain and is close to the Melkrivier with its two picnic sites. Impala Cottage has easy access to both mountain bike and hiking trails.

Bushbuck cottage

Converted from an old farmhouse, Bushbuck Cottage has maintained that farm-style charm. It has a beautiful wooden deck which overlooks an expansive plain, and guests have easy access to both mountain bike and hiking trails, and several picnic spots along the Melkrivier.

Thabeng

Thabeng – meaning ‘At the Mountain’ – is set back in the trees and overlooks an open field and waterhole. It is well placed for access to mountain bike and hiking trails.

The Stone House

The Stone House is a beautifully renovated 1937 sandstone farm-house, with outside rondavel en-suite. It is within walking distance of the gorgeous Makgethelo picnic site, is centrally situated for game-viewing, and has easy access to mountain bike and hiking trails. With its spacious inside and outside living areas, it is ideal for larger groups and families.

Skebenga

Skebenga, a restored farmhouse, is situated on Lindani East on the north facing slope of a wide valley of open fields and bushveld. It is close to a beautiful dam and picnic site. Skebenga guests may be treated to sitings of buffalo, kept in a nearby camp.

Molope Tented Camp

Enjoy the camping experience with a touch of luxury! Molope’s Safari tents, nestled under the mountain, offer comfortable beds and your own wash basin and toilet, in addition to the communal ablutions. The camp boasts a well-equipped communal kitchen and braai area. Molope offers easy access to the Mountain Trail (hiking) and the 3Amps mountain bike trail.

The Camp Site is nestled at the base of a beautiful wooded krans, and overlooks an expansive game-filled plain. This site has easy access to our rock-climbing, mountain bike and hiking trails, as well as immediate access to The Mountain Trail.

To Do

Hiking

Hiking on Lindani is one of the best ways to explore the farm’s beautiful and diverse topography: from open savannah bushveld, streams and towering sandstone to cliffs, to delicate lichen-covered rocks. The trails have a wide range of plant/ tree species and provide excellent game-viewing and bird-watching opportunities.

There are four spectacular circular routes ranging from 6km to 12km, as well as a 1km out and back Tree Walk. The trails are well marked and are also available on the Trailforks App, where you can track your GPS location while hiking. Guided hikes are also available. Cycling

Mountain Biking on Lindani offers riders a unique opportunity to experience riding through pristine Waterberg Bushveld amongst an array of wildlife. Natural single track, combined with farm roads, make up a multitude of stunning routes that cater for all levels. From each lodge, there are routes of various difficulties and distances tailored for children, beginner, intermediate and advanced riders. Routes are designed to be ridden in one direction and are well marked with arrows and numbers. The design of the trails, the beautiful scenery, the plentiful game and the complete sense of isolation from the outside world all make mountain biking at Lindani a unique adventure. For those wanting to do gravel riding, there are gravel roads outside the farm that are quiet, in good condition and explore the spectacular Waterberg scenery.  All the MTB routes are marked and are also available on the Trailforks App.

Trail running

It would be hard to beat Lindani’s Trail Running. The extensive hiking and mountain biking trails together with the farm roads provide trail-runners with endless choices to plan their routes. Trail runners can choose to follow 8-25kms of marked trail running routes, or plan their own routes by making use of marked hiking or mountain biking trails. There are also recommended routes on the Trailforks App.

Game viewing

Guests are free to drive anywhere on the farm roads to enjoy the vast range of plains game and smaller animals and birds. Experience beautiful sightings of giraffe, kudu, wildebeest, zebra and more, at close range. You may be lucky enough to catch sight of jackal, porcupine, bush pig or even perhaps a leopard! The diversity on the farm is enormous! Alternatively, you can book an early morning or late afternoon guided game drive with one of our FGASA trained guides. Book at least a day ahead of time. Additional costs apply (refreshments included).

Rock climbing

For those who seek a little more excitement, Lindani, along with the MCSA, has recently opened 10 climbing routes on some of the farm’s stunning sandstone cliffs, with spectacular views over the Waterberg mountains. These routes range in difficulty from grades 15 – 23. Access either by following the 4×4 route to the Lookout Point, with an easy walk down to the cliff face. Alternatively, drive to and park at the Camp Site (Gate No 2) where you can pick up The Mountain Trail and head North for 4kms to the rock-climbing site.

Lunches, sunset dinners and picnics at Makgethelo

Overlooking a tranquil pool of the Koperspruit , Makgethelo, with its covered lapa, is an ideal picnic spot for a lazy afternoon. Order a picnic basket from the Lindani Kitchen and book your exclusive session at Makgetelo through the Lindani office, for complete privacy. For that really special or romantic occasion, why not order a lunch or sunset dinner. Enjoy a three course meal with a beautifully set table, with white linen, silver cutlery, fine glassware, candles and fairy lights. Book and choose from an attractive menu in advance.

Picnic baskets may also be ordered in advance and delivered to any one of Lindani’s other three picnic spots: Skebenga Dam, Motseng River, and Flat Rocks. Should you prefer, your order may be delivered to your own lodge.

Fishing

Lindani guests can be treated to wonderful fishing opportunities along the Melk River, as well as in our dams. The Melk River, with its multiple and beautiful pools, runs through the farm and is perfect for the fishing enthusiast. A couple of the larger pools have been cleared for easy access, enabling those eager to fish to meander up and down this stunning river.
All fishing is on a catch and release basis and guests need to bring their own gear, bearing in mind that the target species along the trail is wild, large-mouth bass.

For the birding enthusiast, Lindani offers guided birding safaris with one of South Africa’s leading birding guides. Advance bookings and other T&C’s apply. Call the office for further info.

What About Food

The Lindani farm kitchen

The Lindani Farm Kitchen offers a wide range of delicious home-cooked meals, using only the freshest home-grown ingredients. Our kitchen also bakes a most delectable array of fresh farm breads, rolls and sweet treats. Our specialty venison pies are highly recommended, as is our Widerbeest biltong!

Guests can order in advance from a menu sent to them before their visit. Food is prepared on the day and delivered to the lodge.

Picnic baskets can be booked and ordered from an attractive menu in advance and enjoyed at one of four reserved picnic sites: Makgetelo, Skebenga Dam, Motseng River or Flat Rocks.
