It’s a short 3-hour drive from OR Tambo International Airport, or you can opt for an effortless 45-minute flight from Johannesburg to one of the nearby airstrips in the reserve.  This accessibility makes Welgevonden an ideal destination for those seeking a memorable wildlife experience in a malaria-free environment.

Intimate Game Drives

Discover the thrill of encountering the Big 5 in their natural habitat on daily morning and evening game drives!  The game reserve is not only home to the Big Five but also hosts elusive species such as civets, genets, honey badgers, and African eagles.  Your journey to Ndlovu begins at the main gate, where our ranger awaits guests upon arrival and extends a warm welcome with a refreshing drink. Following this, guests embark on a one-hour game drive through the reserve before arriving at Ndlovu Safari Lodge, where our attentive staff eagerly greet them.

We are located in the middle of a game reserve where our guests are not allowed to drive themselves. Instead of following set routes, we prefer to guide you to prime animal viewing spots for an unforgettable experience.
