Rhino Post Safari Lodge

Between Skukuza and Tshokwane, Limpopo

An authentic, un-fenced safari lodge in South Africa’s iconic Kruger National Park, Rhino Post Safari Lodge provides an exclusive opportunity to get close to nature on nature’s terms. You get the best of both worlds, from the enormity and diversity of the Kruger Park, to the exclusivity of an eight-suite lodge on a private concession in a game-rich area.

Environmentally friendly, we practice sustainable tourism and are Fair Trade certified. The lodge is strategically designed to bring the outside in. Whether you are lounging on the deck, lying in the bath or sunning yourself at the pool, you are immersed in nature.

Named after a wooden post rubbed smooth and glossy by a rhinoceros, Rhino Post Safari Lodge is a collection of 8 suites overlooking the usually dry Mutlumuvi riverbed – deep within the Kruger National Park. We take eco-consciousness seriously at Rhino Post, so our suites are semi-permanent structures made using stone, wood and other non-invasive materials. If an authentic African safari adventure is what you’re after, Rhino Post Safari Lodge certainly won’t disappoint!

The lodge overlooks the perennially dry Mutlumuvi riverbed. With wooden decks built around a forest of riverine trees, shade is plentiful. Raised wooden walkways link eight thatched suites each offering their own outdoor shower and private deck. Our lodge is designed with vast areas of open space, large glass doors and windows helping to bring the outside in. Wherever you are – at the pool, the bar, in the lounge, taking a bath or shower, or just relaxing in your room, we endeavour to make you feel as if you are always at one with nature.

The lounge bar and viewing deck are sizable enough to be both social and cosy and at the same time, large enough that guests are able to enjoy some quiet-time and solitude. The reception and curio shop are combined to ensure that there is always someone to attend to your needs, whether you are booking an in-room massage therapy or picking out gifts for loved ones at home.

  • Morning and evening safari game drives
  • Tailor-made birding safaris
  • Sleep out under the stars on raised wooden platforms
  • Enjoy a round of golf at Skukuza
  • Indulge in an in-room massage
